Gottfried von Berlichingen was as well known for warrior prowess as he was for his iron hand. This pen and ink drawing pays homage to the German knight who lost his hand during combat in the 1600's. He was fitted with an iron prosthetic hand and returned to battle. Hand drawn using a croquill pen and india ink, this tribute to the iron fisted German knight is surrounded by a celtic border drawn with a rapidograph. Detailed leafed branches of the german Lime tree fill the background.
